Avoidance

Mental breakdown time, you guys.  Just had a good cry in the bathroom.  Finals, I h8 u.

Sometimes I get too proud of myself mid-project and I just stare at a good part of a totally unfinished, lame drawing or painting going YES I AM AWESOME.  It’s good but it’s bad.

New icon/profile pic whatever.  I’ve had new glasses for like a year soooo I felt it was appropriate.  Sorry if it’s confusing?  Sorry it’s still my face.

I had real trouble getting any work done today because it’s lovely out and the cherry blossoms are blooming and everything.  Also I’m stressed out but I won’t explain that so yeah.  CHERRY BLOSSOMS ARE WONDEROUS.

I’m going to see 21 Jump Street today. That’s about as trashy as my Spring Break is gonna get.  Also, hi I dyed my hair.

I think that  on Saturday I will go to Whole Foods and just buy like 5 cases of ginger beer, in assorted flavors.  I’ll take the train home and people will be like, “Oh, you having a party?” and I’ll just be like, “No, no, no. These are not alcoholic beverages.  I am not cool.  It is just many kinds of a zesty, obscure soda.  No big deal, man.”

Also, I should get some juice boxes.  Srsly.  The check out person will just think I can’t eat solid food or something.

So today I’ve been helping clean out my grandparents’ home in Rockford with my mother, and I’ve found such wonderful things.  In addition to newspaper clipping, thousands (actually not exaggeration) of slides, my grandfather’s dog tags from WWII, a makeshift diary of my grandmother’s senior year of high school (1947-1948) etc etc, I’ve also found correspondance with John Breon and Alice Toklas, and a long written account of a trip to Europe in which they met Katharine Hepburn in 1954.

It’ll take me ages to get this stuff on my computer, let alone the internet, but I’m just as in love with the personal memorabilia as anything else.  The photo above is by my grandfather.

Hiiii tumblr.  I’ll probably be updating you on Christmas etc later on, when I’ve uploaded photos and once I’m back home, especially since I got a million trillion DVDs.

For now I’ll just say that I’ve started a new list (Favorite Characters!)… So that will be assaulting your dashboards for who knows how long.  Be prepared for shitty GIFs galore, y’all.

Oh HAI Winterbreak!  I’ve had a really, really good week despite finals nonsense soooooo I’m feelin’ good.  It still doesn’t feel like Christmastime though.  Hopefully when I get back to Chicago I will be shocked into Winter.

In related news, I overpack like nobody’s business.  In previously related news, I got Arctic Monkeys/Black Keys MSG tickets.  Hurrah!  Also, I hope you are enjoy my surprisingly hipster posts today.
