So I was taping all the photos on my wall before I started packing, because the edges had started rolling up and I didn’t want to leave them like that and I have weird OCD tendencies that basically only ever pertain to painting and displaying photos. SO ANYWAYS, I was doing that and I was looking at this photo and I decided it’s probably one of the best (liiiiiike ballpark, top twenty) photos I have ever taken. I took most of my best photos while on the exchange in France, but nonetheless, this photo is priceless. It’s even messed up because the negatives got all wonky, maybe because of shit cartridge examiners at the airport, or maybe because the people who developed them were awful, but despite the grainy green ugh, it still fills me with joy every time I see it. It portrays the event and the people and the place in such a way that I just love it. SAFARAAAAAY.
Ok, so I will now chronicle my efforts to make the perfect Christmas playlist, or WOW I don’t want to make art right now so this is what I’m going to do. Actually, JK, the post is too long so I’ll just make lots of individual posts of it over the next month.
- Oh. My. God. Last Christmas covers are endless. I’m pretty sure that there is a layer of hell devoted to this song. That’s right, Wham! is the devil (the exclamation point should’ve tipped you off.)
- Ok, that being said I kind of love this remix by Le Sport. I want to rave to this. It doesn’t really fit into a good Christmas Mix though. But it’s so good! and what else could I do with it? Despite the fact that it is rave worthy you can’t exactly have Last Christmas on a general dance music list.
- Also, this Puppini Sisters cover is pretty lovely.
- SERIOUSLY, this song is satan. Why do I like all these covers? I had totally forgotten about the Florence and the Machine version. FUUUUUU. Bright side? (except not really) I don’t actually own this version!
